Smithsonian Digital Magazine

This is a mock digital version of Smithsonian magazine which contains a cover, table of contents, featured article, and one-page ad. The magazine is meant to be seen on a tablet application to increase Smithsonian's exposure, brand patronage, and advertising revenue.

According to Smithsonian Media's 2021 Media Kit, the readers of Smithsonian's digital version are mainly people between the ages of 25 to 64, but most of the audience is between the ages of 25 to 44 (43%) with a slightly higher female ratio (54%). Based on my research of Smithsonian's audience, the information architecture components that best suit them are: An organizational structure focused on subject matter, easy to read text, easy to click links, and features that enhance accessibility like text-to-speech or read-aloud functions.

A digital magazine provides a more interactive user experience and allows the reader to become engaged with the content via the provision of extra information through links, informative videos, and high-quality visuals. All these components are present in my design and the layout echoes that of the print version of Smithsonian.

Software: InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
